Prayer

Luke 11:1-4 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. 2 And he said unto them, When you pray, say,

Our Father which art in heaven, Hollowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.  3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.  And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

I Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

James 5:16-17 Confess you faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

I Timothy 2:1-6 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men. 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty, 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
